Heaven

Do you know where you go when you die?  How can you be sure?

Is there a Heaven?  Is there a Hell?

So many times we don’t think about the answers to these questions until we lose someone close to us.

This is certainly not a question we can put off forever.  We all want to believe that life continues on after our time here on this planet.

Did you know that God loves you so much that he did not want you to spend eternity in Hell, but wants you to live with Him in Heaven?

But because not one of us is perfect and because we all sin we cannot get to Heaven on our own good behavior.  Even if we have just one sin we have committed we can’t “earn” our way there.

But God loved us so much that He allowed His perfect Son to die as our substitute!  And now Jesus sits next to God and acts as our mediator or “go-between”!

How does this happen?  We have to accept that Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  It is a free gift, but we have to lay down our pride that we can be “good enough” to earn our way to Heaven.

We have to say “Yes” to Jesus,

“Come and save me!

I know that I am a sinner,

that I do wrong things,

but that You have died in my place

and you plead for my sake to God.”

Do not leave this decision until it is too late!  Accept this gift!

We do not have to wonder where we are going after we die….we can know for sure!!

Here are some scriptures below that tell us about how to know:

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.  There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:22-24

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:9

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.  He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13).
For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).
